Another piece from my new series! For those who don’t know, my grandmother is successful artist Hope Carr, and a big inspiration for me. I’ve been studying her landscapes and with her permission, I’m recreating them in my own style. 

Here’s what I gathered about her original piece:

This piece is in Belzoni, MS, where a friend of my grandmother had cotton fields behind her house. She happened to be there during cotton season and got the opportunity to get close enough than the photos she would usually take from the road. To make the scene more exciting, she incorporated the sunset from a different sky photo. Swipe to see the end to see her original painting!
